Creating your space. Detail by detail.

Kate Thornley-Hall is a celebrated Toronto-based, London-trained interior designer. After working for Ralph Lauren as part of their London design team, Kate created her own interior design and antique sourcing company, SourceUK, in London. Upon returning to Canada, Kate launched her interior design business in Toronto, followed by her signature line of rugs in 2007. Since then Kate has collaborated with artists and designers such as Candice Kaye, Virginia Johnson and Tommy Smythe, to create a collection whose mission is to bring contemporary art and design to interiors.

Kate’s style is bright, bold and colourful. While some people prefer to live in neutral spaces that encourage serenity, her clients enjoy colourful, vibrant spaces that evoke energy and generate excitement.

Kate is making her mark in the world of textiles by designing products of exceptional quality and graphic depictions. Inspired by designs from Canadian artists and fashion designers, and the artisanal craftsmanship of Nepalese and Indian weavers, the KTH Collection brings home Kate’s trademark style, which combines a love of contemporary graphics and colour with antique furnishings. Kate collaborates with artists, transforming their work into home furnishings, wallpapers, decorative flat-weaves and custom handwoven wool and silk rugs: “art you can walk on.” Speaking on her love for textiles, Kate explains. “It is thrilling and amazing to me to be able to create hand woven rugs that not only decorate a space but have lifelong durability and are able to stand up to the wear and tear of family, while maintaining their timeless beauty.” Kate’s Home Line includes contemporary hand woven rugs from Nepal as well as a new grouping of flat weaves, decorative wallpapers and throw pillows.
